Serie A Preview: AC Milan v. AS Roma

Date: Saturday, May 9, 2015

Kickoff: 2:45 PM ET (USA) / 20:45 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (11), Roma (2)

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy

The optimists among us thought this could be a huge game at the beginning of the season. But with Milan languishing and Juventus already clear of the visitors, it’s lost any luster it may have had. Roma are really the team with more to still play for, as Lazio are hot on their tail for 2nd and Napoli not too far behind. Read More

Serie A Preview: Udinese v. AC Milan

Date: Saturday, April 25, 2015

Kickoff: 12:00 PM ET (USA) / 18:00 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (9), Udinese (15)

Stadio Friuli, Udine, Italy

The worst part about this Milan squad isn’t how poorly they’ve played at times, it’s how boring they’ve played nearly all the time. One of the worst derby matches in a long time transpired at the San Siro on Sunday, and I can’t say I expect a real barn-burner to follow this weekend away against a weakened Udinese. Read More

Serie A Preview: Internazionale v. AC Milan

Date: Sunday, April 19, 2015

Kickoff: 2:45 PM ET (USA) / 20:45 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (9), Inter (10)

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy

Whether or not you are still harboring fantasies of Europa League football (do people have those?), you have to admit there is still one thing to play for: finishing above Inter. The Nerazzurri closed the gap last week with a win over Hellas, their first victory since February. They’ve had our number recently though, so these Rossoneri should relish the opportunity to send their rivals right back into a slump and make the fans happy. For one week at least. Read More

Serie A Preview: AC Milan v. Sampdoria

Date: Sunday, April 12, 2015

Kickoff: 2:45 PM ET (USA) / 20:45 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (8), Sampdoria (5)

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy

Despite what even the most ardent Milan fanatic tells you, a streak doesn’t start until three, so the Rossoneri are going to have to dispatch Sampdoria at the San Siro before we can get too excited. Still, it’s been encouraging to end up on the winning side the past few weeks. These two sides fought to a 2-2 draw in Genoa in this season’s first meeting, and the visitors are desperately clinging to the last official European qualifying position. Read More

Serie A Preview: Palermo v. AC Milan

Date: Saturday, April 4, 2015

Kickoff: 9:00 AM ET (USA) / 15:00 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (8), Palermo (11)

Stadio Renzo Barbera, Palermo, Italy

We’re nearing the home stretch of the 2014-2015 Serie A season. With just 10 matches to go, Inzaghi will have to show some marked improvement in his squad if he hopes to hang on to his job. The writing may be on the wall already, but a lot can happen in 10 rounds, and the first step is to beat a Palermo side that came to San Siro and sucker punched the Rossoneri back in November. Serie A Preview: AC Milan v. Cagliari

Date: Saturday, March 21, 2015

Kickoff: 3:45 PM ET (USA) / 20:45 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (10), Cagliari (18)

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy

Milan have been quite adept at snatching draws from the jaws of victory this season, but last round we one-upped ourselves and lost all three points in the final 10 minutes of the match. Cagliari come in desperate for points and surely smelling blood despite their own woeful form. It’s shaping up to be another ugly one at the San Siro, but an ugly victory sure would make it a hell of a lot more palatable.

Serie A Preview: Fiorentina v. AC Milan

Date: Monday, March 16, 2015

Kickoff: 2:00 PM ET (USA) / 19:00 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (10), Fiorentina (5)

Stadio Artemio Franchi, Florence, Italy

If winning games that you really don’t deserve to is a mark of a great team well, there’s just one more sign that this version of the Rossoneri is not a great team. It looked as if Milan were going to earn a brutal three points last round before once again squandering a one goal lead. Against La Viola, I’ll be surprised if we lead in the first place. Of course we did score first the last time we played, but in keeping with tradition we threw that away too. Read More

Serie A Preview: AC Milan v. Hellas Verona

Date: Saturday, March 7, 2015

Kickoff: 2:45 PM ET (USA) / 20:45 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (10), Hellas (15)

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy

Well, we didn’t lose last round, but we certainly labored to hold back a desperate Chievo side. Now Hellas, their neighbors and rivals with just one more win on the season, pay a visit to the San Siro hoping to avenge a 3-1 loss earlier in this campaign. Read More

Serie A Preview: Chievo Verona v. AC Milan

Date: Saturday, February 28, 2015

Kickoff: 2:45 PM ET (USA) / 20:45 CET (ITA)

League Position: Milan (9), Chievo (16)

Stadio Bentegodi, Verona, Italy

Ok. So it was Cesena. But three points is three points, and there are another three right there for the taking as Milan head to Verona to take on the Flying Donkeys, a team they have defeated in 15 of their last 16 meetings. Read More

Serie A Preview: AC Milan v. Cesena

Date: Sunday, February 22, 2015

Kickoff: 9:00 AM ET (USA) / 15:00 CET (ITA)

League Postion: Milan (11), Cesena (19)

Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Milan, Italy

We drew with Empoli last round, and probably deserved to lose. Cesena drew with Juventus last round (something we couldn’t manage), and probably deserved to win. What does this mean? Damned if I know. Read More
